Collaborative for Education Organizing Grants and Programs
D.C. Public Education Learning Tours 2009-10The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region, the Banyan Tree Foundation, the CityBridge Foundation, and the D.C. Public Education Fund invite members of the philanthropic community to join us on two “semesters” of DC Public Education Learning Tours in 2009-10 The tours have three main objectives:
Transportation and lunch will be provided, with tours beginning at the pickup location, in front of The Community Foundation’s Office, 1201 15th Street NW, at 8:30 a.m. Participants will return to the pickup location by 12:30 p.m. Aside from the kick-off events for each semester and the closing meeting, the tours will be limited to roughly 25 participants. You are invited to sign-up for the first semester of the DC Public Education Learning Tours by completing an on-line application, Click Here to take survey, no later than August 5. You may sign up for one or more tours, however the “Semester Kick-Off Breakfast” on September 9 is mandatory for all participants. The Collaborative's grants focus on coalition-building efforts to effect policy change in the DC Public Schools and schools governed by the District of Columbia Public Charter School Board.
