The Partnership for Equity
The Partnership for Equity's inaugural Request-for-Proposals is now available. Deadline: proposals must be received electronically at The Community Foundation by 5:00 PM, September 15, 2008. Access the Request-for-Proposals HERE. Access the required Capacity-Building Assessment Tool HERE.
Background
The Partnership for Equity (formerly The Washington Area Partnership for Immigrants and The Common Ground Fund) is a new collaboration between philanthropic organizations and representatives of key local jurisdictions who share a vision for equity, access, and opportunity for immigrant communities and other communities of color seeking social justice.
The Partnership advances its mission of strengthening the Washington metropolitan region by focusing its efforts on those who, due to race, ethnicity or economic status, lack access to opportunity. We accomplish this by supporting emerging leaders through grants to nonprofit organizations that engage our region’s diverse communities. Our goal is to empower each through advocacy, operational effectiveness, organizing, research, public awareness to become fully involved in the economic, social, and civic life of our community.
Grants and Opportunities
Our initial Request-for-Proposals is now available. The Partnership for Equity is seeking requests from locally-based nonprofits working in the greater Washington, DC area in the realm of social justice and racial equity. Grants of up to $30,000 are available to support both general operating needs of social justice nonprofits as well as direct technical assistance for nonprofit leaders of these projects. Access the Request-for Proposals HERE.
Proposals are due by 5:00 PM on September 15th, 2008. All proposals must be submitted electronically to Luis Vivaldi, Program Associate, at lvivaldi@cfncr.org by the deadline--no exceptions will be made. Additionally, all proposals must be accompanied by a completed Capacity-Building Assessment Tool document (available here). Proposals submitted without this attachment will not be accepted.
