"The Spirit of Giving 100"
“There’s strength in numbers.” It’s a familiar saying -- but, when it comes to giving, it’s really true. With so many pressing issues and needs facing our region’s communities, we all know that these challenges – many entrenched for decades – simply cannot be met by a single donor or even a handful of dedicated donors. In the same way, despite our firm commitment to bettering our communities, The Community Foundation can’t bring about positive change by itself alone. That’s why we are excited to announce The Spirit of Giving 100 – The Community Foundation’s new giving circle bringing together 100 donors to pool their resources and collectively make high-impact grants to some of our region’s most effective nonprofits. The goal? To award $1 million over the next two years to outstanding nonprofit organizations working in the full range of issue areas, such as workforce development, education reform, arts and youth development. A two-year membership begins with your contribution of $10,000. How does it work? All members are invited to two or three grants-focused meetings per year centered on three important community issues. A total of $120,000 in grant funds is earmarked for each session. The Foundation's Community Investment team presents an overview of several nonprofits working in each issue area. Afterward, members have the chance to discuss and then vote to award anywhere from a minimum of $10,00 to a maximum of $40,000 per organization. Be a part of this innovative, interactive and high-impact circle of grantmakers! For More InformationKenny Emson |
