Inaugural Grants from "The Spirit of Giving 100"

At its first grantmaking session this past February, members of The Spirit of Giving 100 -- The Community Foundation's newest giving circle -- recommended $120,000 in high-impact grants to six Washington-area nonprofits working in the areas of midlle school education, arts and culture, and workforce development

Spirit of Giving 100 members pool their resources to create a special fund of grantmaking dollars.  The group makes its decisions collectively from a selection of nonprofits in each interest category.  The Community Foundation's knowledgeable staff provides members with an in-depth report on each nominated organization and answers members' questions regarding the organizations' fiscal health, programmatic strengths, leadership and governance, and community impact, and more.

Note: The Spirit of Giving 100 does not accept unsolicited proposals or inquiries from nonprofit organizations.
